Afghan Defense: Several dead and wounded terrorists of Taliban
The Afghan Ministry of Defense announced that there were deaths and injuries among the ranks of the Taliban terrorist movement, as a result of air and artillery shelling in Nangarhar province during the past 24 hours.
The Afghan defense statement said, “10 Taliban fighters were killed and 6 others were wounded in air and artillery shelling in Hisarak and Sherzad districts in eastern Nangarhar province during the past 24 hours.”
The statement added that last night, the Special Forces targeted Taliban militants in Bandar and Imam Sahib in Kunduz province, killing 13 insurgents and wounding 6 others.
The violence and bloody confrontations between the government forces and the Taliban escalated, in light of the stalled negotiations between them to reach a permanent ceasefire agreement and discuss the country’s political future.
This coincides with the start of the United States of America and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to withdraw forces from Afghanistan early last month, and the administration of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani confirmed the ability of the security forces to deal with security challenges.
