Delegation from the Vatican meets with the Office of Grand Ayatollah Sistani in Najaf

An official delegation from the Vatican arrived in Najaf in preparation for the upcoming visit of Pope Francis with the religious authority.
The papal delegation went to the old city and met with the office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali al-Sistani.
Head of delegation, Archbishop Mitia Lescovar, confirmed that the meeting between the two figures will be historic; therefore it must be well prepared.
The Vatican has confirmed that Pope Francis will visit Najaf in March.
