A number of Shia youth of Iraqi origins are seeking to establish the ‘Imam Hussein Chair for Academic Studies and Researches’ in American universities, to introduce the Husseini renaissance, as they started the first steps of the project.
One of the young people who thought of the idea said, in an interview with Shiawaves, “The idea has been running in my mind for four years, and is summarized by the establishment of an academic chair in American universities under the name ‘The Imam Hussein Chair’, which will introduce the Husseini renaissance through research and higher academic studies.”
Shiawaves correspondent said, “This chair represents a step in addition to the efforts of the lovers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, to introduce the world to the authentic Islamic thought through the renaissance of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him,” indicating that “there is in a number of American universities and Western countries that have a chair for Arab literature and Islamic culture, however, this academic chair under the name of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, is the first of its kind and we are striving to achieve it during the coming period.
The correspondent added that this project needs the support of Shia institutions and centers and holy shrines.
