The joy of the Kuwaiti pilgrims who crossed the Iraqi borders to participate in the Arbaeen Pilgrimage was mixed with sadness over the calamity of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
There were complications and obstacles faced by the pilgrims to enter Iraq and participate in the revival of Arbaeen, but that didn’t stop the lovers of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
Abu Abbas, a Kuwaiti pilgrim, said through a video clip posted on social networking sites, “I asked Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, to give us the opportunity to visit his holy shrine and my wish was granted, amid the difficulties and the closure of Iraqi borders in light of Covid-19.”
He added, “Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, is generous and he does not return anyone empty handed.”
Abbas and his group are now thirty kilometers from Diwaniyah province, continuing their journey to the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
Last Wednesday, the Iraqi government agreed to the entry of 1500 pilgrims from each country whose citizens wish to participate in the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, after official, religious and popular calls to the government to demand that Arab and foreign pilgrims be allowed to participate in the commemoration of Arbaeen.
