Authorities in Lebanon have arrested six suspects in connection with the recent deadly twin bombings in central part of the capital, Beirut.
A senior security source said that the detainees include five Syrians and a Palestinian.
On Thursday, 44 people were martyred and nearly 240 others sustained injuries when two large explosions rocked a security post in Hussaineya Street in the crowded Borj al-Barajneh neighborhood of Shia majority in a southern suburb of Beirut.
The ISIS Takfiri terrorist group claimed responsibility for the bombings. In a statement posted online, the extremist group said its members exploded a bike loaded with explosives in the area and that when people gathered at the site a bomber carried out another blast among them.
