Grand Ayatollah Rouhani says no one can impose certain type of Husseini rituals to be practiced

The Grand Ayatollah Sayed Mohammad Sadiq al-Rouhani asserts that Ashura is commemorated by millions of Muslims throughout history by practicing various Husseini rituals as they express the school of sacrifice of Ahlul-Bayt, peace be upon them.

His Eminence said that some figures are trying to impose certain Husseini rituals to be practiced by Shia Muslims and preventing any kind of Azadari, pointing out that no one has the right to prevent people from practicing the rituals they prefer.

He added that many religious authorities released fatwas that permit beating chests, using chains, holding mourning gatherings, and all such actions which express the emotions of grief except the rituals in which drums or music are used.
