Washington Hosts the 32nd Annual Conference of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in September

The U.S. capital, Washington, will host the National Policy Conference and the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) on September 12, 2026. The event will feature participation from a number of figures, activists, and representatives of the Muslim community in the United States.

The council announced that the conference, known as “CAIRCON,” will address a variety of issues related to protecting democratic institutions and enhancing the political participation of Muslims, alongside public policy, strategic planning, and building networks between activists and community leaders.

Dearborn, Michigan’s Mayor, Abdullah Hammoud, is set to participate as a speaker at the conference, which takes place amid growing interest in the role of American Muslims in public and political life.

The council will also host its annual ceremony on the same evening under the theme “We the People: Saving Democracy and Building the Future,” involving a number of speakers and guests from various U.S. states.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations is one of the most prominent organizations dedicated to defending the civil rights of Muslims in the United States, and its annual conferences provide a platform to discuss issues facing the Muslim community and to enhance its presence and participation in public affairs.
