Kashmir commemorates the Prophet’s birth anniversary with processions and widespread religious activities

Various regions of Kashmir witnessed processions and religious gatherings in celebration of the birth anniversary of the great Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny), with wide participation from people of all age groups. In the city of Srinagar, processions commenced from several areas, featuring prayers for the Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny), as well as religious praises and hymns. Participants carried flags and paraded through a number of streets and markets to honor the occasion.

In Baramulla, a religious procession began at the shrine of Syed Janbaz Wali, moved through the main market, and proceeded to the shrine of “Dargah ‘Aliya Athar Sharif,” attracting large numbers of local residents. The celebrations extended to the regions of Ganderbal and Anantnag and several shrines and religious sites, where families and children participated in gatherings and processions. These events included recitations, praises for the Prophet, and religious programs that highlighted the biography and teachings of the great Messenger (peace be upon him and his progeny).

At the Hazratbal Shrine in the city of Srinagar, a large number of worshippers gathered to participate in the religious programs for the occasion, while the ceremonies for celebrating the Prophet’s birth anniversary continued throughout Kashmir amid expressions of joy and celebration.
