Husseini Mourning Flag Raised at Sultan al-Muallifin Hussainiya in Mahajanga

The ceremony to raise the mourning flag of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, was held at Sultan al-Muallifin Hussainiya in the city of Mahajanga, Madagascar, coinciding with the beginning of Muharram 1448 AH.
The Hussainiya is one of the centers affiliated with Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi.
During the ceremony, a group of Shia Muslims and devotees of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, gathered at Sultan al-Muallifin Hussainiya to mark the beginning of the mourning month for the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him.
By raising the Husseini mourning flag, participants emphasized the continuation of Husseini rituals and the importance of keeping the culture of Ashura alive.
The programme also included a devotional gathering dedicated to the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, with a speech by Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Mohammad Reza Wasram, director of the office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi in Mahajanga.
Sultan al-Muallifin Hussainiya is an active center providing religious and cultural activities to the followers of Ahlul-Bayt (peace be upon them) throughout the year, keeping the youth engaged with the teachings of the Pure Progeny of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon them).
