Shia communities in several countries marked Eid Allah al-Akbar, Eid al-Ghadir, with religious and cultural programs highlighting the event of Ghadir Khumm, the values of Wilayah, and the legacy of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him.

Shia communities around the world held ceremonies and public gatherings to commemorate Eid al-Ghadir, with events reported in Melbourne, Mazar-e-Sharif, Cambodia, and Lucknow.

In Melbourne, Australia, members of the Shia community gathered at Bayt al-Abbas Hussainiya, one of the centers affiliated with the Shirazi religious authority, to mark the night of Eid al-Ghadir 1447 AH. The event included religious programs, celebratory segments, and speeches emphasizing the importance of Ghadir Khumm and the place of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, in Islamic belief.

In Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan, a major “Celebration of Wilayah and Imamate” was held at the large Sultaniyah prayer hall. According to Shia News Agency, the gathering brought together scholars, memorizers of the Holy Quran, and members of the public, creating an atmosphere of spirituality and joy while emphasizing the role of Ghadir in strengthening religious and social bonds.

In Cambodia, the Shia community held religious and cultural activities, including the raising of the “Ali Wali Allah” banner at the Qa’im Aal Muhammad Foundation. The program included educational and awareness activities aimed at introducing the local community to the spiritual and humanitarian meanings of Eid al-Ghadir.

Meanwhile, in Lucknow, India, the office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi held a celebration at Jannat Ma’ab Hussainiya. The event featured lectures and religious speeches, including remarks by Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Saif Abbas Naqvi, who stressed the importance of conveying the culture of Ghadir to the wider world.
