Deadly Floods in Kulob, Tajikistan Kill Three, Cause Widespread Damage

Heavy rainfall triggered severe flooding and mudflows in Kulob City in southern Tajikistan on May 1, resulting in at least three deaths and injuries to others as rising waters inundated residential areas and damaged critical infrastructure.
According to official reports from the Khatlon Region, three people lost their lives in the floods and two more were injured and hospitalized amid the downpours that swept through the city. Local authorities have launched emergency operations to assist affected residents and begin recovery efforts following the disaster.
The floods caused significant damage to homes and public infrastructure, including roads and power networks, compounding hardship for thousands of residents in the region.
