……………
At least six people, including women and children, were killed and five others injured after the roof of a house collapsed in Charsadda district, northwestern Pakistan, local authorities said, as reported by Arab News. The incident occurred in Shabqadar tehsil, where several people had gathered for a wedding, leaving some trapped under the rubble.
Rescue teams from Rescue 1122 rushed to the site, retrieving the bodies of the deceased and rescuing five injured individuals, who were transported to a nearby hospital. Officials said the debris was removed carefully to prevent further injuries and ensure the safe evacuation of survivors.
Roof collapses are a frequent hazard in Pakistan, often caused by poor construction, aging buildings, and lack of adherence to building standards. Local government officials expressed condolences to the families of the victims and urged increased vigilance in older neighborhoods and informal settlements to prevent similar tragedies.
