Iraq’s Interior Minister, Abdul Amir al-Shammari, chaired a high-level meeting with police commanders and security officials to review the final logistical and security arrangements for the upcoming martyrdom anniversary of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (peace be upon him). According to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the session focused on securing the city of Baghdad and the major routes leading to the Al-Kadhimiya district.
According to the official report, the security plan involves enhanced coordination between various military and civil institutions to protect the millions of pilgrims expected to participate in the mourning ceremonies. Interior Minister al-Shammari emphasized the importance of intensified intelligence efforts and proactive surveillance to ensure a safe environment. Additionally, logistical support will be deployed along pedestrian routes to provide medical services and crowd management as devotees head toward the holy shrine.
