Colombo, Sri Lanka, inaugurated a distinctive exhibition of Quranic and Islamic calligraphy, organized by the Nouria Academy in collaboration with the Iranian Cultural Advisory Office, held at the Pereira Gallery of the University of Visual and Performing Arts.
The exhibition showcases works by Sri Lankan artist and calligrapher Amir Faisal, recognized for his abstract style that blends traditional Islamic calligraphy with modern design and graffiti elements. His pieces draw inspiration from Quranic verses and Hadith, combining spiritual themes with contemporary artistic expression.
Organizers emphasized that the event aims to promote awareness of Islamic calligraphy as a global art form, highlighting its aesthetic and cultural values while fostering intercultural dialogue. The exhibition will remain open for several days, allowing visitors to experience a unique fusion of Islamic heritage and modern creativity in South Asia.
