Report Highlights Ongoing Sectarian Attacks Against Shia Communities in Syria
…………….

A new report by the Center for the Documentation of Violations Against Shia in Syria has documented a series of sectarian attacks and abuses targeting Shia civilians across several provinces in recent days. The report attributes the assaults to armed groups affiliated with the so-called “Public Security” forces and factions linked to the Syrian Interim Government, criticizing what it described as the “conspicuous silence” of local authorities in addressing these incidents.

According to the center, violations were recorded in multiple areas, including the towns of Nubl and al-Zahraa in Aleppo’s countryside, where a man named Ahmed Hamza was seriously wounded by gunfire. In Homs province, two men — Yasser al-Abdullah and Ammar Mousa al-Ali — were reportedly kidnapped in separate incidents, while another resident, Ali Madah, was detained following a raid on his home in al-Abbasiyah neighborhood.

The report also cited the killing of a young man, Ali Ramez al-Haji, in western Homs and the decapitation of another victim, Farid Haj Mousa from Idlib’s Fouaa, after being tortured in detention. The center urged international organizations to launch an independent investigation and ensure protection for Shia civilians amid what it called a “pattern of targeted sectarian violence.”
