Colombia to Host First Shia Academic Conference on Spiritual Teachings

The city of Ipiales in Colombia is set to host the country’s first Shia academic conference titled “Teachings of Ahl al-Bayt on Spirituality and Morality.” The event will bring together university scholars, members of the Shia community, students, and families for a program that highlights the spiritual and ethical dimensions of Ahl al-Bayt’s teachings.

The conference, organized by the global campaign “Imam Hussein for All,” is part of a broader initiative across South America to promote intercommunity dialogue and the universal values of compassion and morality emphasized in Islamic teachings.

A recorded message from Ayatollah Sheikh Abdul Karim al-Haeri will open the event. Organizer Sayed Hussein al-Musawi al-Ahwazi described the gathering as a “historic milestone” for Colombia’s Shia community, aimed at fostering cultural and religious understanding while showcasing the humanistic and spiritual heritage of Ahl al-Bayt’s school of thought.
