Over 14,000 Mourning Processions Participate in Arbaeen Commemorations in Holy Karbala
…………….
Mourning processions have commenced their program to mark the Arbaeen pilgrimage at the shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother, Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them). The Department of Rituals, Processions, and Husseini Associations is overseeing all organizational aspects of the processions, scheduled from 16 to 19 Safar, in coordination with other departments of the holy shrine.
Teams accompany each procession from start to finish to ensure smooth movement, avoid overcrowding, and maintain designated routes without interference with visitors. Roads leading to the shrines and entrances to the old city witnessed the arrival of numerous processions, with participants chanting expressions of devotion and grief.
The department announced the registration of over 14,000 processions from Iraq and abroad for the 1447 AH Arbaeen season, issuing 14,368 legal permits for mourning and service processions from countries including Iran, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bahrain, India, the UK, and others.
