The National Imams Council of Australia held its Fourth Global Imams and Scholars Forum at Slacks Creek Mosque in Brisbane, hosted by the Queensland Imams Council. The gathering brought together religious scholars, imams and Muslim community representatives from across Australia, alongside international guests from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and South Africa, to strengthen cooperation among Islamic institutions and preserve Muslim identity among younger generations.

Participants emphasized Islamic values, unity and mutual respect, and launched an updated code of conduct for council imams to reinforce professional ethics, integrity and scholarly responsibility. The forum also reaffirmed commitments to supporting imams, developing future religious leaders and expanding Islamic education services, which currently support more than 4,500 Muslim students across over 55 public high schools in New South Wales.

Other key developments included the preliminary launch of the Australian Council for the Quran and discussions on establishing an Australian Fatwa Council.
