Syrian Ministry vows accountability after video of Sweida hospital killing
——————–
Syria’s interior ministry vowed to hold accountable those responsible for the killing of an unarmed man at a Sweida hospital during July violence, after a video surfaced showing forces in military gear shooting an engineer volunteer, Arab News reported.
The clashes, starting July 13 between Druze fighters and Bedouin tribes, escalated to kill around 1,600 people, mostly Druze civilians. Rights activists demand an independent investigation and UN access, labeling the killing a war crime.
Despite a ceasefire, tensions and access difficulties persist, with locals accusing the government of a blockade, which officials deny, citing humanitarian convoy entries. A government committee was formed to investigate and report within three months.
