Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari has instructed security forces to avoid road closures or rerouting during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, the media office of the ministry announced Wednesday.

Al-Shammari, who leads the Supreme Security Committee for the mass pilgrimage, held a meeting with security and intelligence leaders in Karbala to review the implementation of the security plan for the event.

He emphasized working with increased dedication and ensuring smooth, uninterrupted traffic flow for pilgrims entering and leaving Karbala.

The minister also called for separating pedestrians from vehicles and maintaining thorough security checks to prevent congestion. All necessary arrangements for the Arbaeen visit have been made, aiming to ensure an organized and safe pilgrimage experience distinct from previous years.
