According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Syrian security forces killed three Alawite men and set fire to homes and vehicles during violent raids on two villages in Latakia province on Wednesday night, Shafaq News reported. The raids targeted Bayt Aana and Al-Daliya in the Jableh countryside, where security personnel reportedly torched dozens of homes, a school, a commercial center, and a sports club.
Two young men, including one with special needs, were shot dead during the operation. A third man from nearby Batmoush was found dead with a gunshot wound. In Al-Daliya, three homes were burned, and several young men were detained.
Authorities confirmed the “security operation” aimed to target suspects involved in an attack on a telecommunications center in Al-Daliya, announcing multiple arrests. The raids followed recent deadly attacks on Alawites, highlighting ongoing sectarian violence since the overthrow of former President Bashar al-Assad in late 2024.
