Geneva to hold 78th World Health Assembly to discuss Health, climate change

The 78th World Health Assembly (WHA78) will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 19 to 27 May 2025, under the theme “One World for Health,” WHO website reported.
The Assembly will focus heavily on the intersection of health and climate change, reflecting the growing global urgency to address environmental impacts on public health. Proceedings will be webcast live with simultaneous interpretation available in six languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish.
A key highlight of WHA78 will be the finalization of the Draft Global Action Plan on Climate Change and Health. This follows the adoption of a dedicated resolution on climate change and health at the previous assembly, WHA77.
Several Member States and partner organizations will host side events focusing on climate and health throughout the Assembly. These events aim to foster collaboration and share innovative approaches to mitigate climate-related health risks.
WHA78 represents a critical platform for advancing global health strategies in the face of climate change challenges.
