Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: Being just toward others is among most difficult obligations God has imposed

The Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, emphasized the profound importance of being just and fair toward others, describing it as one of the most challenging and significant obligations imposed by God on His servants. The Grand Marja stressed that this duty applies to individuals, communities, and governments alike.

In a brief message published on the official website of his office, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi referenced a saying from one of the Infallibles (peace be upon them): “Among the most difficult duties God has imposed on His servants is being just toward others from within themselves.”

The Supreme Marja explained that God created both men and women with different capabilities and responsibilities, and among the most critical of these responsibilities is to treat others justly — fulfilling their rights without expecting anything in return.

He noted that while many people demand their rights from others, very few strive to fulfill their own obligations toward others. He called for widespread adherence to this divine principle, particularly by governments and institutions that bear greater responsibility for ensuring justice in society.

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi reiterated his ongoing call for adherence to the path of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), describing it as the ideal model for achieving social justice and human well-being in both this life and the hereafter
