Shia Muslims worldwide commemorate sorrowful martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq

Shia Muslims around the world are commemorating the sorrowful martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), observed on the 25th of Shawwal, corresponding to April 24th.
Mourning ceremonies and religious gatherings are being held in mosques, Islamic centers, Husseiniyahs, and holy shrines to honor the life, teachings, and legacy of the sixth Imam of Ahlulbayt.
In Iraq, the holy shrines of Ahlulbayt in cities such as Najaf, Karbala, Kadhimiya, and Samarra have been draped in black banners to mark this solemn occasion.
Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) is buried in the Baqi Cemetery in Medina, alongside fellow revered Imams: Imam al-Hassan, Imam al-Sajjad, and Imam al-Baqir (peace be upon them).
In Holy Qom, Iran, the honorable residence of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi has hosted mourning gatherings attended by scholars, seminary students, and believers.
The Grand Ayatollah has called on Muslims and the wider global community to spread the moral teachings and knowledge of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), describing his legacy as a model of peace and ethical guidance.
