Pakistan: Terror Attack in Balochistan Leaves Seven Dead

Authorities in Pakistan reported a tragic incident late Tuesday when “terrorists” ambushed a bus in Balochistan province, resulting in the deaths of at least seven passengers, VOA reported.
The victims were traveling from Quetta to Punjab when they were targeted in Barkhan district. Eyewitnesses confirmed that attackers shot the passengers after identifying their ethnic Punjabi background.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but suspicion has fallen on the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), known for targeting security forces and civilians in resource-rich Balochistan. Provincial Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the violence as a “cowardly act,” stating that paramilitary forces are pursuing the perpetrators.
This incident follows a military operation in South Waziristan, where 30 Islamist insurgents were reportedly killed. The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has intensified its attacks in recent months, raising concerns about security in the region. The Taliban government in Afghanistan has denied allegations of supporting the TTP.
