Bangladesh Prepares Skilled Workers for Saudi Arabia’s Major Projects
The Bangladeshi government is gearing up to send skilled and semi-skilled workers to Saudi Arabia to support major development projects linked to upcoming international events, including the FIFA World Cup, the Asian Winter Games, and Expo 2030, Arab News reported.
Adviser Asif Nazrul, from the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, met with Saudi authorities in Riyadh to discuss the welfare of Bangladeshi expatriates and the potential for increased labor supply.
With around 3 million Bangladeshi nationals already in Saudi Arabia, the country is set to require more skilled labor as it prepares for events like the AFC Asian Cup in 2027 and the World Expo in 2030.
Additionally, the Bangladeshi embassy launched an E-Demand Attestation system to streamline the recruitment process, allowing employers to register online for worker demand letters.
