Over 150 People Massacred by ISIS Terrorists in Burkina Faso
More than 150 individuals, including many Christians, were killed in a brutal attack by extremist Sunni terrorists in Manni, Burkina Faso, on October 6, CNA reported yesterday.
Local sources reported that the ISIS insurgents cut off telephone communications before targeting a market crowded with people after Sunday Mass. The attackers indiscriminately fired upon the crowd, looted shops, and set several buildings ablaze, resulting in victims being burned alive. The following day, they returned to kill wounded individuals receiving medical care.
Many of the victims were displaced persons seeking refuge from previous attacks. Since May 2023, approximately 2,000 displaced individuals, both Catholics and Muslims, have found shelter in the area.
Burkina Faso is currently facing the highest level of extremist violence in the Sahel region, with recent estimates indicating that at least 400 people were killed in similar attacks in August.
