Turkey Arrests 32 Undocumented Afghan, Pakistani Migrants

Turkish authorities reported the arrest of 32 undocumented migrants from Afghanistan and Pakistan on September 20, in Edirne, Khaama Press reported yesterday.

The arrests occurred during police operations in the villages of Meriç, İpsala, Lalapaşa, and Uzunköprü, where the migrants were found without residence documents.

Turkish police announced ongoing operations across the country to combat illegal migration, emphasizing that efforts to identify and deport undocumented migrants will continue in the coming days. Turkey remains a significant transit route for Afghan migrants attempting to reach Europe, often entering through Iran. The Turkish government has intensified its measures against illegal immigration, reflecting the increasing pressure to manage migrant flows from Afghanistan and Pakistan.
