Najaf Government Discusses Plans to Ensure Smooth Arbaeen Pilgrimage

Governor of Holy Najaf, Youssef Kanawi, chaired a comprehensive meeting to discuss the necessary preparations for securing the Arbaeen pilgrimage, attended by officials from service and security institutions.

The focus was on developing strategies to ensure the pilgrimage proceeds smoothly and safely, considering the influx of millions of visitors to the city.
In a statement issued by the governor’s media office, which was followed by “Shia Waves Agency,” it was announced that the meeting addressed ways to enhance coordination among all relevant parties to provide the best services for the pilgrims. Kanawi emphasized the importance of the efforts being made to ensure that the Arbaeen pilgrimage is exceptional in every aspect, according to pre-established plans.

The governor highlighted that a key aspect of the plans is to ensure that no roads will be closed during the pilgrimage period, in close collaboration with security forces and traffic departments. He stated that all routes, including the “Ya Hussein” road, which is expected to be completed soon, will remain open to facilitate the movement of visitors and ensure their safety.

The statement also noted that the meeting discussed improving traffic management procedures, providing essential services such as ambulances and emergency assistance, and ensuring safety in areas experiencing large gatherings. The importance of cooperation among all involved parties, including local and security authorities, was emphasized to meet the needs of visitors and enhance their experience.

Kanawi explained that the goal of these plans is to provide the best services to pilgrims and ensure that the visit is a comfortable and safe experience for all participants. All attendees expressed their full commitment to implementing these plans to ensure the success of the pilgrimage and address any challenges that may arise during the Arbaeen observance.
