Shia Rights Watch condemns terrorist attack on Hussaini gathering in Sultanate of Oman
Shia Rights Watch, an international pro-Shia rights organization, expressed its strong condemnation of the terrorist attack targeting those commemorating Husseini rituals in the Sultanate of Oman.
In a statement obtained by Shia Waves Agency, the organization said, “Reports indicate that there were fatalities and injuries among the participants in the Ashura commemoration due to an armed attack by Takfiri militants on a Shia Husseiniya.”
The organization pointed out that the attack resulted in dozens of innocent civilians being killed and wounded, emphasizing that the victims had committed no crime other than observing their religious rituals.
The organization called on the official authorities in the Sultanate of Oman to intensify efforts to eradicate the Takfiri ideology that has infiltrated the country, stressing the need for strict measures to prevent the recurrence of such crimes that threaten the safety of Oman’s tolerant society.
On Tuesday, the Omani police announced that 4 people were martyred and several others were injured in a shooting in the vicinity of a Shia mosque in the Wadi al-Kabir area of the Sultanate of Oman.
