UNRWA: More than 50,000 Palestinian children in need of treatment for acute malnutrition

The United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, has reported that over 50,000 children in the Gaza Strip are in urgent need of treatment for acute malnutrition, Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.

In a statement, the agency said that “with continued restrictions to humanitarian access, people in Gaza continue to face desperate levels of hunger.”

Nearly 37,300 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza by Israeli forces since last October, most of them women and children, with over 85,200 others injured.

Israel is now accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which has ordered Tel Aviv to immediately halt its ongoing operations in the region.

UNRWA teams are working tirelessly to provide aid, but the situation remains catastrophic.
