Saudi Arabia Receives Over 267,000 Hajj Pilgrims Since May 9

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has welcomed over 267,000 pilgrims through its air and land ports as of May 19th, marking the start of the Hajj season, Gulf News reported yesterday.

The first flight of 283 pilgrims arrived on Thursday morning, May 9, from Hyderabad, India, the source mentioned.

Earlier this month, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation announced its preparations, allocating 3.4 million seats across 7,700 flights to serve the expected pilgrims.

Tens of thousands of pilgrims are arriving in Makkah and Madinah on a daily basis, amid an integrated and accessible system dedicated to serve the pilgrims to perform their rituals in ease and comfort.

The Hajj ritual is scheduled to commence on June 14th and conclude on June 19th, though the exact dates remain subject to the official announcement by the Saudi moon sighting committee.
