Grand Ayatollah Shirazi remarks on Mushaf of Amir al-Mu’minin, peace be upon him

The scholarly meeting of Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Sadegh al-Hosseini al-Shirazi was held on Thursday and Friday night, coinciding the tenth and eleventh days of the holy month of Ramadan. In these sessions, like the previous meetings, the Marja answered the questions of those present in the meeting about various jurisprudential issues.

In relation to the Mushaf of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi said: The Mushaf of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, was recorded on occasions when Gabriel was honored to visit Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, and would present some facts to her, and the Commander of the Faithful would write those things. This compilation has been named Mushaf of Sayyida Fatima, peace be upon her.

Referring to the Mushaf of Amirul Momineen, His Eminence said: A hadith from Amir al-Momineen, peace be upon him, narrates that he recorded the entire Qur’an from the beginning to the end, as it was revealed from the tongue of the Messenger of God, along with its Tafsir and Tawil.

He further said: It is mentioned in a hadith that after the martyrdom of the Messenger of God, Amir al-Momineen presented the Quran he had recorded, which contained Tafsir and Tawil, to the congregation of Muslims, but they did not accept it.

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi emphasized that the Mushaf of Amir al-Momineen still existed and has not been destroyed. He said: This book was only available to the pure Imams, peace be upon them, and it was not even available to early scholars. Hadiths state that the Mushaf of Amir al-Momineen, peace be upon him, is now with Imam al-Mahdi, peace be upon him, and will be presented to people when he reappears.
