Muslims worldwide mark sorrowful demise anniversary of Prophet’s honorable wife, Sayyeda Khadijah
Muslims and Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, all over the world have commemorated the sorrowful demise anniversary of the Mother of Believers—Sayyeda Khadija bint Khuwaylid, the Prophet’s honorable wife, peace be upon them.
The tenth of the blessed month of Ramadan marks the passing of the first and most loyal believer who believed and supported the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, Sayyeda Khadija, peace be upon her.
She passed away in Makkah, three years before the Prophet’s Migration, at the age of 65. Her painful demise saddened the Prophet. Sayyeda Khadija and the Prophet’s uncle, Abu Talib, peace be upon them, passed away in the same year, this is why the Prophet named this year as the ‘Year of Sadness’.
The Mother of Believers sacrificed herself and wealth for the sake of supporting the Message of Islam and to achieve the sublime goals of this religion.
On this sorrowful anniversary, the believers renewed their demands that the Baqi al-Gharqad Cemetery be reconstructed, after the Wahhabi enemies of AhlulBayt, peace be upon them, demolished it.
The Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, emphasized on this occasion “the necessity of introducing the life of Sayyeda Khadijah al-Kubra, peace be upon her,” calling on believing women “to follow her footsteps and blessed biography.”
