The fourth Imam Hassan al-Mojtaba Conference will be held in Iraq with a focus on Quranic studies.

“Seerah, or biography of Imam Hassan al-Mojtaba, peace be upon him; Human Virtues in Quranic Models” is the theme of this edition of the scholarly event, according to al-Kafeelwebsite.

It will be jointly organized by a number of Iraqi centers, including the International Center for Cultural Studies affiliated to the al-Abbas holy shrine in Karbala and al-Murtadha Cultural Institute.

The conference will feature papers and speeches featuring Quranic, religious, literary and historical studies.

According to organizers, the deadline for submitting abstract papers is August 1. The submitted papers should be either in Arabic or English, the organizers said.

Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.

There has been a growing trend of Quranic programs such as competitions, conferences, scholarly events and educational programs held in the country in recent years.
