A group of Muslim cyclists in the UK successfully raised £66,000 for the completion of the first mosque in Cumbria county, known as the Lake District. The feat was accomplished by cycling over 200 kilometers in a single day.

According to Reuters, this fundraising effort became a powerful symbol of Muslim solidarity and received strong support from the local community, occurring amidst a hate campaign by far-right extremists.

Despite facing threats from Islamophobic groups, the construction project continues with broad support from both Muslims and local Cumbria residents. The new mosque is currently scheduled to open in time for the upcoming Ramadan month.
