Boxing world champion Gervonta Davis converts to Islam
American professional boxer Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis has embraced Islam, adopting the Muslim name Abdul Wahid, symbolizing “the servant of the one”.
The 29-year-old former three-division world champion went to a mosque on Sunday to pray ‘Dhuhr’, where he also took shahadah along with his two other friends.
Athletic stars, including boxing champions like Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson and world-famous basketball player Stephen Jackson, have joined the faith, inspired by the Islamic values and virtues.
