Misbah al-Hussein, IHC provide relief to victims of earthquake in Herat
Misbah al-Hussein Foundation for Relief and Development, in cooperation with Imam Hussein Charity (IHC), from centers affiliated to the office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi, have provided relief aid to needy and traumatized families and orphans in Afghanistan.
Report:
These days, the people of Afghanistan, especially its Shiites, are suffering from various problems, which seem to grow every day especially after the Taliban came to power again in 2021.
With the beginning of the winter season, the World Food Program announced that the cold season is a difficult season for millions of people in Afghanistan, and one out of three people in this country go to bed hungry.
After the establishment of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the Hazara Shiites have not enjoyed life security, fearing every moment that some of them will fall victim to the repeated terror attacks that are happening in different places of Afghanistan.
In addition to all these problems, the devastating earthquake that shattered eastern Afghanistan not long ago, which is said to be the deadliest earthquake in Afghanistan in the past 20 years with at a magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale, caused a large population of Afghan people, especially Shiites, to become homeless, while the media remained largely silent and indifferent.
The deadly earthquake did not capture global attention as it almost coincided the Hamas attack on Israel and so did not receive due notice.
In light of the dire circumstances, Misbah al-Hussein Foundation for Relief and Development, in cooperation with Imam Hussein Charity (IHC), from centers affiliated to the office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi (may Allah prolong his life), is taking action to provide aid relief to the needy and traumatized families as well as orphaned children in Afghanistan.
IHC seeks to create initiatives to cover the needs of Shia families all over the world in various fields, and relies on contributions and financial assistance of capable Shia families and religious benefactors from all over the world.
The charity organization implements its projects in a number of countries with the cooperation of some Shia institutions, especially Imam Hussein Media Group and Misbah al-Hussein Foundation. Recently, IHC and its partners distributed humanitarian aid among victims of devastating earthquakes in the province of Herat, Afghanistan.
The relief aid has included quantities of food provisions, including rice, flour, oil, as well coal to provide winter fuel for needy families. These were provided to a total of 404 families: 160 families in Hassan Abad, 52 in Imam Fakhr, 100 in Ahmadi, 50 in Sabz, and 42 families in Khajeh Sar Bor.
It should be noted that the two institutions have periodically carried out humanitarian activities such as building a school, distributing provisions and winter fuel, providing drinking water for some areas and other charity activities under the supervision of the office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi.
