British journalist recounts his journey to Holy Najaf and Karbala

The “New York Times” newspaper published an editorial in which it recounted the journey of the British writer and journalist “Atesh Tasir” to a number of countries that witness major religious events, including Iraq.

The newspaper said in its article, which was translated by the Karbala Center for Studies and Research and followed by Shia Waves Agency, that: “Eighteen months ago, the writer residing in New York, Atesh Tasir, planned for a journey with the aim of writing what he described as a ‘distinctive story’ consisting of three parts through exploring religious journeys in Bolivia, Mongolia and Iraq.”

The article added that “this journey, which he described as “the most famous religious journey in the world,” was documented by the writer himself in his first book entitled “Stranger in History,” noting that he had read dozens of books about the targeted countries in his journey in order to acquire information about each religious event in these countries.”

The newspaper explained that “among the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala during the Ashura of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and documented the details of this massive gathering.”
