5 civilians, including 3 kids, killed in Junta artillery attack in Myanmar

Junta artillery shelling killed five civilians, including three children, in central Myanmar, RFA reported yesterday.

One shell fell into a monastery, killing two 10-year-old monks on the spot, while another fell on a house, killing a family who were having lunch at the time.

The troops also fired heavy weapons at civilians on Sunday, firing bullets which hit a monastery and lead to the injury of five internally displaced people.

Junta soldiers have killed over 4,000 civilians since the regime seized power in February’s 2021 coup, according to an independent monitoring group AAFPP.
