Türkiye arrests more than 900 people after recent terrorist attack
Turkey’s security forces have detained more than 900 people on suspicion of involvement in terrorism as part of the large-scale operation Heroes on Tuesday, October 9.
The operation took place in 64 provinces, with 928 people detained and 744 units of unregistered weapons confiscated, the Turkish interior minister said in a statement.
More than 110 suspected members of the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have also been detained over the past 48 hours, local media reported.
The operations were carried out after the terrorist suicide bombing attack near the Turkish Interior Ministry building in Ankara, which was claimed by the PKK.
