Suspected Terrorists Kill 25 Military Personnel in North-Central Nigeria

Yesterday, a group of heavily armed individuals, believed to be affiliated with a terrorist organization, launched a coordinated assault on a military outpost in north-central Nigeria.

 The attack resulted in the killing of 25 military personnel. Preliminary reports suggest that the assailants employed tactics involving both firearms and explosives, overwhelming the base’s defences and causing considerable damage.

Major. General Edward Buba said seven soldiers were also wounded by the suspected terrorists.

“Insurgents ambushed troops in the Zungeru area of the state and some troops of the Nigerian army paid the supreme price,” he added.

Buba said an investigation of the incident is still underway.

He also urged citizens to be wary of propaganda by terrorists.
