Imam Hussein Holy Shrine begins constructing two pilgrims cities at Safwan, Shalamcheh border crossings

The Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has announced the construction of two pilgrims cities at the border crossings of Shalamcheh and Safwan in Basra province, southern Iraq.

The official representative of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine in Basra province, Sheikh Mustafa Mohammed Al-Hassani, said in an interview with the official website followed by Shia Waves Agency, that “Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has started constructing two cities for pilgrims at the border crossings of Shalamcheh and Safwan in Basra province.”

Al-Hassani explained that, “The Holy Shrine has bought the plots of land for the project, which measure (25) dunums to construct the city at Safwan border crossing.”

He added “The Imam Hussein Holy Shrine is now completely the paperwork for the other plot of land to construct another city at Shalamcheh border port, which measures 150 dunums.”

Al-Hassani concluded that, “When completed, these two cities with offer services to the honorable pilgrims during massive pilgrimages, as the number of pilgrims is increasing.”
