Toddlers need chickenpox jab, advisers tell NHS

The government is to decide whether or not children between 12-18 months will get vaccinated against chicken pox as advised.
Till date, majority of parents go private and pay up to £200 to protect their children against this virus, which causes red itchy spots all over the body.
Chickenpox cases decreased during the Covid pandemic due to restrictions on socialising, meaning there is currently a larger pool of children than usual who are unprotected against the highly contagious virus.
However chicken pox can be more severe if you catch it as an adult rather than a child.
