New tension may arise on border between Armenia, Republic of Azerbaijan

During the course of recent days, a significant number of weapons, military equipment and personnel have been observed at the borders between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced.

These forces are suspected to be gearing to carry out new military operations, the statement adds.

According to the Azerbaijani ministry, Yerevan has also started building military infrastructure in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, where Russian peacekeeping forces have been stationed since 2020.

Meanwhile, the Defense Ministry of Armenia reacted to this issue in a press release by denying any accumulation of weapons and forces near the border and in Nagorno-Karabakh area.
