Madagascar: Religious Program Marks Birth Anniversary of Holy Prophet, Imam al-Sadiq with School Supplies Distribution

The Ahl al-Bayt Center in Mahajanga, Madagascar, held a religious and cultural program commemorating the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and his grandson Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq, peace be upon him. The event included Quranic and educational activities, as well as the distribution of school supplies to around 130 students.

Sheikh Mohammad Reza Wesram, representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi in Mahajanga, said the program was dedicated to Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq following celebrations marking the birth anniversaries of the Holy Prophet and Imam al-Sadiq held the previous week at Sultan al-Mu’allifeen Hussainiya.

The event began with Quran recitation and the reading of Hadith al-Kisa. The program also featured poetry highlighting the life and teachings of Imam al-Sadiq, along with a question-and-answer competition about his biography, with prizes awarded to participants.

In his speech, Sheikh Wesram highlighted the connection between religion and knowledge in the teachings of Imam al-Sadiq, emphasizing the importance of learning and education alongside religious values.

As part of the social and educational activities, the center distributed notebooks, pens, and other school materials to 130 students from the Ahl al-Bayt Center community in Mahajanga at the beginning of the academic year.

The program concluded with the distribution of food and refreshments to attendees, combining religious commemoration with educational support and community activities.
