Al-Marja al-Shirazi: Emulating the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and His Morals is a Path to Solve Society’s Problems
The highest religious authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi (may his shadow continue), affirmed that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) represents the ideal role model for humans in various aspects of life. He emphasized that neglecting to follow his exemplary conduct and noble morals is behind many of the issues that society currently faces.
His Eminence stated: “The roots of many problems that society suffers from today can be traced back to the neglect of God’s words: ﴿Certainly, you have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent exemplar﴾. This verse reminds us all that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the ideal role model in our lives.”
He clarified that emulating the Noble Prophet (PBUH) is not limited to a specific aspect but should extend to various aspects of life, especially ethical interaction and compassion towards others.
He added, “Allah Almighty introduced us to the Messenger of Islam (PBUH) as the best role model in all aspects of life, with particular emphasis on the necessity to emulate his noble morals and immense compassion.”
Al-Shirazi’s words highlight the importance of drawing inspiration from the prophetic biography to address societal and ethical challenges by reinforcing the values of compassion, good character, and practical emulation of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in individual and communal relationships.
These directives affirm that the remembrance of the Prophet’s (PBUH) biography should not be confined to commemorating occasions associated with him, but rather be fundamentally achieved by transforming his morals and conduct into a practical approach in life and society.
