Kosovo: 18 Cities Compete in the 14th Edition of the Prominent Mosque Schools Competition
The capital of Kosovo, Pristina, witnessed the final rounds of the 14th edition of the Comprehensive Religious Knowledge Competition, with the participation of a select group of mosque school students who qualified from 18 cities. This event aims to encourage children to continue their religious education and enhance their Islamic knowledge.
The competition was organized by the Islamic Community of Kosovo, through its Religious and Educational Affairs Department and the Youth Section, following competitive stages held at the mosque and city levels. The most outstanding students qualified for the final stage.
The competition included questions and tests in the Quran, Islamic creed, jurisprudence, and Islamic history, in addition to artistic segments presented by the students, as part of a program that combines educational attainment with educational activities.
The Islamic Community of Kosovo pays attention to mosque schools as part of the educational and religious upbringing system for children, where imams and hundreds of female teachers participate in providing lessons and programs aimed at introducing the younger generation to the Quran and Islamic principles and values.
The final rounds were hosted by the “Alauddin” Islamic High School in Pristina, with the presence of those responsible for religious education, imams, teachers, students, and parents, while the competitions saw participation from students of various regions.
The final results led to the students of the Islamic Community Council in Vushtrri achieving first place, while the students of the Islamic Community Council in Skenderaj came in second, and the students of the Islamic Community Council in Fushe Kosovo took third place.
The annual competition serves as a platform to encourage mosque school students to develop their knowledge and compete among themselves, in addition to enhancing communication between students and religious institutions in various Kosovar cities.
The hosting of the 14th edition reflects the ongoing presence of Islamic education in Kosovar society, through a system that links the mosque, the kuttab (traditional school), educational institutions, activities, and competitions, aiming to establish and transmit religious culture to new generations.
