Zaynabiyya Seminary in Damascus Commemorates Martyrdom Anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him)

The Zaynabiyya Seminary in the Sayyida Zaynab area of Damascus has held a mourning gathering to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him), the eldest grandson of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family), with the participation of scholars, religious students, and believers.

The director of the seminary and representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi in Syria, Sheikh Hasan Abdul Hadi al-Shahristani, said the gathering was organized to remember the tragic anniversary of Imam Hasan’s martyrdom, highlighting his noble life, his oppression, and the hardships he endured in preserving the authentic teachings of Islam.

The program began with the recitation of the Ziyarah of Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him), followed by verses from the Holy Quran recited by Quran reciter Zia al-Baghdadi, in an atmosphere of grief and sympathy for the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

Later, Husseini speaker Sheikh Mustafa Sharaf delivered a sermon, discussing aspects of Imam Hasan’s life, his virtues, his positions, and the injustices he faced until his martyrdom.

The mourning ceremony is part of the religious programs organized by the Zaynabiyya Seminary in Damascus to commemorate the occasions of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and promote their teachings and legacy among believers.
