UN Women: Women, Girls Are Main Victims of Taliban-Pakistan Border Tensions

UN Women has said that women and girls in Afghanistan continue to pay the highest price for the ongoing clashes and military tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan.
The UN agency stressed that women and children are among the most vulnerable groups in times of crisis and called for urgent and increased assistance to provide healthcare, food and shelter.
According to Amu TV, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan also confirmed that Pakistani airstrikes in Khost, Kunar and Paktika provinces killed 13 civilians and wounded 10 others, with women and children making up most of the victims.
The escalation of border clashes in recent months has caused not only civilian casualties, but also the destruction of homes and the displacement of dozens of families in the affected areas.
